Whatever your beliefs are and regardless of WHO you choose to vote for it is IMPERATIVE that we get out and vote this election season. It is likely that the landscape of your city, state and the entire United States will be dependent on the results of this very important election in November. Just because you vote doesn't mean your candidate will win but without your vote you did nothing to ensure that they do. One vote may be meaningless but if all the people who don't usually vote- vote this year, the results can change the world. Do your part!
You must be registered to your current address or set up voting by mail to vote. You must be registered by the end of September in order to vote in the November election. Check your registration status here as there have been reports of people who should be registered but their voter registration is no longer active. IF YOU MOVE, you need to reregister. Black women have changed the world more than once. Let's do it again.

In May 2024, TBBL was rocked by losing a very precious member of our community. Sekia Holmes was a light in every room she entered and we were blessed to have her as a part of the TBBL family since shortly after her move to the Tampa Bay area in 2020. A Master Stylist in her home in DMV, she also had many, many clients in Florida and from TBBL. She even hosted our Smoken' Ladies event at Loc'd In Cigars for most of this year.
Since her life was celebrated with family, friends & clients (which people usually started as 1 and quickly became all 3) in her hometown, we wanted to find a suitable way to honor her memory in Tampa as well. In August, TBBL is partnering with Crown Collective & Loc'd On Cigars to carry on Sekia's legacy of making women look and feel beautiful. The Crown Collective, started by Keiani Scott, collects unused hair from salons, stylists & folks who may have hair left over from their last style to distribute to women & girls that may need a lil village support to get their hair done. "When I realized how much hair I had sitting in my bathroom cabinet, I searched for a place to donate it. I could not find one single organization to donate to, that’s when I decided to create it myself. The project also doubled as my capstone project for my Masters program! Now that it is up and running I am so thrilled to partner with businesses in Tampa Bay to help the Black Community feel confident in their hair and hopefully have one less worry. Black history and black hair are one. No matter the circumstance, we all deserve to feel confident in our crown! "
So we invite the TBBL community & the Tampa Bay community at large to come join us at Loc'd On Cigars on August 3rd to bring their hair & hair care donations that we will present to Keiani & Crown Collective in Sekia's name!
The 2024 recipient of our collection was Dawning Family Services.
